The 2022 Sunset Dinner brought the authentic flavors, music, and performance of the Middle East to the docks of the Washington Canoe Club.

Weekend Getaways: Do you have a beach house, lake house or vacation home that you would donate for a weekend?

Outings and Experiences: Donate a spa gift card, local brewery or distillery tour, sunset cruise, museum tickets or sports tickets.

Food and Wine: Restaurant gift certificates, catering service, cooking classes or food/wine gift baskets.

Consider donating your talent: Are you a chef that wants to provide a picnic lunch for some paddlers? A home cook who wants to host a dinner? Care to lead a paddling tour or class, and provide refreshments on the dock afterwards?

We gathered at the club for a cocktail reception followed by an elegant sit-down dinner along the most picturesque part of the Potomac River.

Michelin-Star restaurant Maydan premiered a 3-course family-style dinner from their newest concept "Tawle" (meaning Table in Arabic). Tawle, coming to Arlington next year, is a casual Middle Eastern restaurant offering a kebab-centric menu. Those attended the Sunset Dinner were among the first to savor this fabulous new menu!

Legendary Washington DC entertainment venue Eighteenth Street Lounge immersed us in curated Middle Eastern inspired music throughout the evening.

2022 Sunset Dinner

The Sunset Dinner Fundraisers are truly a team effort. Volunteers pitch in to make our space look beautiful and create a fun and festive atmosphere for our guests.

Funds raised from the event will help us fund the revised Phase I boathouse rehabilitation plan. Beyond the fundraising, the dinner is always an amazing opportunity to spend time together as a community and socialize with new and old friends.

Another way to engage with the event is by being a sponsor.
