Marathon Canoe

While there is not an organized marathon team at the Club, paddlers from across the paddling disciplines compete in various marathon races, including the General Clinton Canoe Regatta.

In addition, many members store their own marathon canoes, and train through the year to compete on the national level in such races as USCA National Championships. To train for these events, members organize various training sessions on the Potomac, long paddles on the C&O Canal, as well as trips to the many rivers in the area.

There is quite a bit of cross over between marathon, outrigger, and sprint paddling at the WCC. Having all of these disciplines available makes each group stronger and provides a diversity of experience that is one of the hallmarks of the club.
